Desiree & Zander Siegfried Give Thanks to Firefighters Amid Massive Wildfires in Oregon
Desiree Hartsock Siegfried and her son Zander are giving thanks to first responders and firefighters as they battle massive blazes in her home state of Oregon and all across the West Coast.
Desiree posted a photo on Instagram of herself and Zander at home as he eats a popsicle. She wrote in her caption, "Sitting on the kitchen floor to eat a popsicle with my lil man since the smoke is way too terrible to be outside. Just so thankful to still be at home and I’m praying for everyone that’s evacuated or been displaced! I also want to say THANK YOU to all the firefighters and volunteers fighting these massive fires and I know @americanredcross and @unitedway are taking donations right now to help."
She continued, "If you know how we can physically help the firefighters with food/water/etc please let us know below or any other resources to stay informed on the fires taking place all across the west! I’ve found the Statesman Journal Oregon fire tracker to be the most helpful so far. Take care of each other and stay safe!"

Wildfires have blanketed the West Coast in smoke and ash, turning the sky orange and gray. According to the New York Times, the mayor of Portland, Oregon, declared a state of emergency and 500,000 people are under evacuation order.
