EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Montgomery Celebrates Father’s Day with Bachelor Nation!

Celebrating Father’s Day!
Bachelor Nation fans know Hunter Montgomery from Season 17 of “The Bachelorette.”
The father of two ended up finding love off-screen with Daniella Pierce, and they announced their relationship in September 2021.
Now, Hunter is stopping by to chat with BachelorNation.com exclusively about Father’s Day and what it means to him to be a dad.
Check out Hunter’s full interview below!
Bachelor Nation: Happy Father’s Day, Hunter! We wanted to start off by asking what being a dad means to you.
Hunter Montgomery: Being a dad means having the opportunity to have a positive impact on my kids. It means being able to create memories with them that they can look back on and laugh, and smile. Being a dad gives me a chance to take lessons from my own life and experiences, and hopefully help my kids from making similar mistakes I did. Being a father opens my eyes to the innocence, curiosity, and serenity we can have in life, if we never outgrow it.

BN: That is really beautiful. Do you have an ideal way to celebrate Father’s Day with your kids?
HM: My ideal way to celebrate Father’s Day would be at a swimming pool with my kids, followed by a classic Disney movie!
BN: So sweet! Sounds like a perfect day. How would you say fatherhood has changed you?
HM: Fatherhood has reminded me that I don’t know it all — in fact, I know very little. Fatherhood has taught me that unconditional love is very real, and that type of love makes discipline quite challenging (haha). Fatherhood has reminded me that my actions, attitudes, and beliefs matter, and can have a significant impact on those around me. Fatherhood has taught me that I’m not great at long division anymore. Fatherhood has taught me that I’m definitely not as cool as I think I am.
BN: Love all of those. What has surprised you most about fatherhood?
HM: I think what has surprised me the most is the way humans, as parents, instinctively know how to handle situations and emotions that come up in parenting that they never could have imagined.
BN: What a good point. And do you have any advice for fellow parents out there?
HM: You are doing a good job. We all make mistakes as parents, but that doesn’t mean you are bad parents. Keep doing your best, and keep loving with everything you have. None of us really know what we are doing.

BN: That’s really great advice. How would your kids describe you?
HM: Goofy, fun, loving, and hungry.
BN: Ha! Love it. What is your favorite part of fatherhood?
HM: Being able to answer or have meaningful conversations, where they are counting on me to give them answers (even though I don’t always have the answers). A close second is snuggling with my kids.
BN: Those are both the best! As a dad, what do you hope your kids learn from you?
HM: I hope my children learn to always treat others with kindness, no matter what. I hope they learn that pineapple does not belong on pizza. I hope they learn that being different does not mean less, it just means different. I hope they learn to always give their best effort. I hope they learn to always tip the server. I hope they learn the importance of honesty, and integrity. I hope they learn that you can’t actually win carnival games. I hope they learn that they can always come to me for anything.
BN: They are lucky to have you! And last but not least, what is your proudest moment as a dad so far?
HM: There have been several occasions where I have witnessed my kids including other children that appeared to be left out. They love without prejudice, and that brings so much joy and peace to me.
BN: That’s incredible. Thank you for chatting with us, Hunter. Happy Father’s Day!
