Tyler Cameron Shares an Update on Matt James Since Breakup with Rachael Kirkconnell

Bachelor Nation got to know Matt James on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” where he found love with Rachael Kirkconnell.
Earlier this year, Matt revealed that the two had unfortunately broken up after dating for four years.
He posted a photo in January of him and Rachael from Night 1 of his season and wrote, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔”
Rachael eventually shared that the breakup was due to each of them deciding they ultimately wanted different things.
And while Matt has kept fans updated with his life online since the split, he hasn’t opened up about how it has affected him.
Now, Matt’s close friend and fellow Bachelor Nation star Tyler Cameron is sharing an update for the first time on how Matt’s doing since his breakup with Rachael.
In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, Tyler revealed that Matt is still working through what happened and isn’t quite ready to move on yet.
In response to if he’s tried setting up the former Bachelor on any dates, Tyler replied, “I haven’t tried yet… I think you got to lick your wounds for a little bit first, and then you gotta put yourself back out there. We’re still early.”
Tyler also added that while his friend isn’t ready to put himself out there yet, Matt is doing well overall since he and Rachael split a few months ago.
Matt recently ran the Boston Marathon as a field correspondent and set a new world record for the most hugs given while running a marathon.
