Alexe Godin Reveals She ‘Finally Paid Off’ Her Student Loans: ‘Thank You So Much to BIP’
Major milestone!
Bachelor Nation fans watched Andrew Spencer and Alexe Godin meet and fall in love on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
During the show, Alexe was open about her student loan debt and her hope of paying it off if she won any of the prize money at the end of the season.
In the finale, Andrew and Alexe became one of the final two couples, leaving Costa Rica together and with $125,000 in prize money.
Now, Alexe has taken to Instagram to reveal that she’s finally paid off the student loans she mentioned on “Paradise.”
Alongside a video, she wrote, “The truth about my student loans lol 👹 little life update - so so grateful 🩷.”
In the video, Alexe begins by saying, “Guess what? I finally paid off my student loans! Thank you so much to ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ obviously. A lot of people have been asking why I had so much debt. I basically had to pay for all my schooling and my entire cost of living since I was 18 years old. Yes, I accumulated a lot of debt with that. I am not trying to say a starving artist story, this is actually legit, it really happened.”
She went on to share that she moved to L.A. prematurely, before she could afford it, and that her rent cost more than what she was earning, forcing her to sleep on an air mattress.
Alexe continued, “My credit cards were maxed out and I probably had like $50 in my bank account. You never know what life has in store for you. I am aware my situation is a little bit different. I got really lucky because I did win a big chunk of money. I never expected that two years later I would be on ‘The Bachelor,’ find love on ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ and that they would miraculously change the rules as if they had a lot of student loans, and that I would win. Be open to what life has in store for you.”
She ended the emotional video by sharing that she wanted to tell her story to help anyone going through a rough time and to remind them that “it gets better.”
We’re so happy for Alexe and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. Congrats on this major milestone!
