'The Bachelorette’s' Christopher Opens Up About His Life, Daughter, and the Season Pause
Spilling the tea.
Bachelor Nation stars Charity Lawson and Kathy Swarts recently joined together on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to unpack the recent news surrounding “The Bachelorette.”
Speaking directly to the fans, the two addressed the show’s current pause and cleared up the speculation and rumors that have been circulating, sharing, “The show has not been canceled. At this point, it is only on a pause. It is not canceled.”
They also reflected on what’s been unfolding in real time with honest insight shaped by their own experiences before introducing a brand-new miniseries on the podcast.
Listeners will now have the opportunity to get to know each of the men of “The Bachelorette” Season 22 as they sit down to share more of their stories and discuss how they’re currently feeling.
Christopher was the very first to join the podcast, opening up about how he’s felt seeing all the news unfold online.
“Honestly, this has been like a whirlwind,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve been able to articulate the way that I feel. You know I’ll go to bed and I’ll wake up and there’s something else. So, it’s like I haven’t had the time to get my feet underneath me yet with all this. I’m just trying to take it day by day. We’re finding out things as you’re probably finding out things. You can’t get on social media without seeing something pertaining to our season, so I don’t know. I can’t fully answer that.”
Christopher also expressed his hopes for the season to air, sharing that it “needs to be shared with the world because I think it’s a great one.”
The “Bachelorette” cast member then gave his honest thoughts on Taylor Frankie Paul and the season being paused.
He said, “There’s a misconception that I’ve been seeing online. A lot of people are under this impression that we knew about Taylor long before we got there. I didn’t know that Taylor was going to be the Bachelorette until I had already agreed to do it… I found out later and then once I found out later, when I saw Taylor Frankie Paul, I’m like, ‘Who the h*ll is this?’ Again I don’t come from this world, so I had to start doing Google searches, and then my friends found out and they were like, ‘Oh, I know her I watch her other show,’ and then they started telling me things. So, I was like, ‘Oh, boy, what am I gonna do with this?’ But you know, there’s been rumors about me in my life, so I thought it’d be unfair to judge her based on what I got from a second- and third-hand source.”
Christopher continued, “So, there’s been a lot of people reaching out trying to get the cast to speak on our experiences with what’s going on in the house or with Taylor and her business. The type of person I am, I wasn’t there. You know? I don’t know. I mean, it’s very unfortunate to see it play out on social media, especially when children are involved. Like, those kids are gonna have to grow up and see these videos now. This is someone’s real life and then you have people on social media with their opinion. I’m like, ‘You guys don’t know what’s going on. We’re only seeing one side of the story play out in the media.’ So, I think it’s unfair for people to jump to an assumption or a conclusion without having all the facts. And that’s something that I’ve stayed away from. It’s very unfortunate, but, you know, let people live their lives without being so judgmental or opinionated. I just wish more people would give more grace to people versus just jumping to attack them.”
