Desiree Hartsock Advocates for Homeschooling Her Kids After Being ‘Completely’ Against It
Change of heart.
Fans saw Desiree Hartsock Siegfried and Chris Siegfried find love and get engaged on Season 9 of “The Bachelorette.”
The two later got married and have since welcomed sons Asher and Zander into their family. In 2024, the couple revealed they were expecting baby number three and in November Desiree gave birth to their third son, Noah.
The former Bachelorette loves to keep fans updated with their lives online, and this week, she shared a new video advocating for homeschooling her kids despite being “completely” against it at first.
In her post, she expressed, “We just got back from our homeschool community day and it got me thinking that, it’s just funny because I was literally on the completely other side of the spectrum. I was like, ‘Nope! I will never homeschool, I’m never gonna stay home, I’m gonna work hard, I’m going to run my business.’ I’m a creative so I’m like, I gotta do that. But it’s easier to say that because you just don’t know what you don’t know, right? So it was easier for me to say, ‘Yeah that’s not for me’ rather than ask why. Like why am I saying that?”
Desiree revealed that she felt a “desire” in her heart to homeschool her kids and it turned out to be “the biggest blessing” she “didn’t know I needed.” The Bachelor Nation star stated that the reason she wanted to make the video was to encourage other parents who may be “on the cusp” about homeschooling their kids.
She shared, “You are qualified to teach your children and I just want to encourage you, it has been incredible. And yes it’s a learning curve, but once you get in the groove, it has been so fruitful and just so fun! It’s so fun.”
Desiree further emphasized that she “NEVER wanted to or thought I would homeschool, let alone be home with my children” in her caption and expressed it was never on her timeline. However, she is now grateful for the experience.
“I always pursued my own ambitions & would say anything other than that path was just NOT for me,” she continued, “Not until the Lord began to soften my heart in that regard and through meeting other homeschool moms gave me greater understanding on what I just didn’t know. It’s been three years now & has been the greatest blessing I didn’t know we needed.”
We always love hearing from Desiree and appreciate her honesty. We’re so glad that homeschooling has been such a great experience for her family!
