Lexi Young Responds to Criticism About Her Love Life: 'Have You Found a BF Yet?'
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation star Lexi Young first looked for love on Season 28 of The Bachelor and later appeared on Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise.
Since her time on the shows, Lexi has used her social media platforms to raise awareness about endometriosis and share how living with stage 5 endo impacts her daily life.
As fans may recall, Lexi opened up about her health journey on The Bachelor and ultimately chose to self-eliminate when she realized she was on a different timeline when it came to having children.
Recently, the Bachelor Nation star moved back to New York City, where she previously lived, and has been growing her business, In the Wild Dating, which helps singles connect in person through group events.
In a new video on social media, Lexi discussed her current work-life balance and responded to a critical comment about her love life.
She shared, “If I’m being honest, I have been holding on by a teeny tiny little thread. And a lot of the reason is because my business has picked up like 100x in what I was doing this time last year, which is so exciting and amazing. I say ‘yes’ to everything and I’m very much so working on that because it hasn’t always worked in my favor… I’ve had a couple moments over the last few weeks where I’m like, what is my life outside of the business at this point? I feel like that’s hard for me to even say out loud.”
Lexi then highlighted a comment she recently received on Instagram asking whether she had found a boyfriend yet.
The comment read, “Have you found a bf yet?? I thought you left your season because you had a timeline for having babies.” Lexi revealed that the message made her cry and responded, “Sorry, I’ve been building a business.”
The Bachelor Nation star also opened up about being financially independent and the pressures that come with it.
She explained, “I need to make sure I’m financially setting myself up to be a mom and to buy a house and to retire. At my age a lot of people are relying on someone else to kind of come in to help them with that. I feel like I’m kind of on an island. And then there’s the whole element of my fertility, my endometriosis, egg freezing. I’m gonna keep it so honest with you guys, like, not great. Not great in that department and it’s very difficult for me to even think about those things when I’m having like ten events in the span of four weeks. This is my new normal and I am learning and figuring out how to manage this.”
We’re sending our support to Lexi and applaud all of her hard work. We know she will find the perfect match one day, and this is a good reminder to be kind when commenting online.
