‘Bachelorette’s’ Shane Reveals Surprising Connection to Tyler Cameron

The men of “The Bachelorette” Season 22 have been joining the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to exclusively discuss how they’re feeling about the show’s current pause and share more of their stories.
All the guys have been getting interviewed one by one, and this week, Shane joined to reveal a surprising connection to Bachelor Nation star Tyler Cameron.
After discussing how he got cast on the show after talking to Bachelor Nation for “the last three or four cycles,” he shared the interesting connection between Tyler and him.
He said, “Weirdly enough, my high school friend group — and do you remember when he had the whole quarantine crew thing going on?… When Tyler had the whole quarantine crew thing going on, somehow my high school friend group has become friends with the quarantine crew.”
Shane continued, revealing that one of his best friends is currently dating one of Tyler’s friends.
He shared, “My high school best friend is this girl named Kenna; you’ll hear more about her in the season if it airs. She is dating Tyler’s best friend. And because of that, before I even went on, I was talking to Tyler and he’s been nothing but supportive and helpful throughout this whole process.”
Shane clarified that the best friend is not Matt James, stating, “I don’t know Matt,” and relayed the advice that Tyler gave him before leaving for the show.
He spilled, “[Tyler] gave me some good advice before I left. He told me not to do what he did, which was he didn’t speak to Hannah [Brown] for like two weeks on the season. Two or three weeks.”
Shane also opened up about how he felt “appalled” to see his date with Taylor Frankie Paul go viral on social media.
He expressed, “When I got home and I saw how viral that date was, I was appalled. It was also crazy to be in that moment when, wherever I was, every single person around was screaming for her, ‘Taylor! Taylor!’ I was like, ‘Oh, my, what did I get myself into?’ It was so crazy.”
