Demi Burnett Speaks Out for Autism Acceptance Month: 'You’re Gonna Be Hearing from Me'

If you’ve been keeping up with Bachelor Nation star Demi Burnett, you know that around three years ago, she got candid about her autism diagnosis on social media.
Since being diagnosed, Demi has continued to speak openly about autism online, sharing educational videos about autism, pathological demand avoidance, sobriety, and ADHD.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star is using her platform to highlight Autism Acceptance Month.
In a new video, Demi opened up about her specific autism profile, pathological demand avoidance, also known as PDA.
She shared, “It’s AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH and you’re gonna be hearing from me 🗣️ LET’S TALK ABOUT PDA AUTISM 🧠 PDA, or pathological demand avoidance, is described as a profile of autism (meaning the way autism presents for you): high anxiety and an involuntary survival drive for freedom from external control.”
Demi also explained what helps her and what may help others with PDA.
She said, “What you can do to help someone you know who is PDA: give them options! And most importantly, the option to not have to do it at all. Also, don’t be surprised if offering options makes them react, asking us to pick is also a demand! Word it carefully to relieve any potential pressure.”
Demi’s comments were quickly filled with fans sharing similar experiences and expressing how helpful they found her video.
Her continued openness is helping others feel seen and understood.
