‘Bachelorette’s’ Johnnie Shares How Not Making the Savannah Bananas 'Changed Everything'
Chasing dreams.
Bachelor Nation was introduced to Johnnie, one of the men from “The Bachelorette” Season 22, earlier this year.
Johnnie is a former professional baseball player from Massapequa, New York, with a love for all things sports, pizza, and karaoke.
The Bachelor Nation cast member loves keeping fans updated on his life online and often shares his experience as a member of a professional Cosmic Baseball team.
This week, Johnnie took to social media to share more about how he got to where he is in the Cosmic Baseball league and how one door closing opened another for him.
He shared an emotional video after not making the Savannah Bananas baseball team and wrote, “I’ve grinded my whole life chasing the dream of making it to the big leagues. Whether it was one pitch or 10+ years, I would’ve done anything just to say I made it. After the 2024 season, I decided it was time to move on. I started going on interviews for office jobs and quickly realized that life wasn’t for me.”
Johnnie shared that, “Then the Savannah Bananas reached out about a tryout. I was all in. I thought becoming an entertainment baseball player was exactly what I was meant to do. I went to a tryout in May, then got invited back in July. Not long after, they told me they weren’t moving forward with me.”
He shared that he was “absolutely crushed” after putting everything into the opportunity and not knowing what he was going to do next.
Johnnie went on, saying, “The very next day, Unc (Jason Dean) from Cosmic Baseball reached out and asked me to come play. That moment changed everything. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m living, I’m having fun, and I’m not done yet. Never give up!”
