Susie Evans Opens Up About Emotional Fertility Journey and Why She’s Staying in Chicago
Keeping it real.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Susie Evans on Season 26 of “The Bachelor” and again on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on the shows, Susie has been living in L.A. and keeping fans updated on her life online.
Last week, she took to Instagram to share a deeply personal journey with her hundreds of thousands of followers — her decision to freeze her eggs.
She expressed, “While I’m still figuring out the marriage and kids chapter, I look at the life I’ve built and the blessing of having the option to freeze my eggs and I feel incredibly grateful.”
Susie is now on week two of her fertility journey and revealed in a new post that she is currently staying in Chicago during her treatments due to its location in a “reproductive friendly state.”
“I’m so excited to be here in Chicago freezing my eggs,” she said. “One thing that was important for me was long term cryopreservation storage. The whole point of freezing my eggs is taking control of my fertility and being proactive about what I want!”
Susie explained her eggs will stay on site at the laboratory in Chicago instead of moving to a third-party facility, which is why she chose that particular clinic. The Bachelor Nation star also shared that it’s been an especially emotional week.
She expressed, “This week has been so emotional in the best possible way. I’m already a sensitive girlie but these hormones have me happy crying heading into my second week of shots!”
Other than crying a lot, Susie told her followers that it’s been a great process and she can already envision her future children.
“So far it’s honestly been a really great process,” she said. “It just feels like bloating right now but I know there are little follicles in there growing so I’ve been talking to them and saying how much I love them. Just in case they’re my future children. And I do have some bruising, but other than that the process has been very chill.”
We’re so proud of Susie, and we know that sharing her experience will help so many others on a similar journey. We’re continuing to wish her all the best!
