Jess Edwards Celebrates Spencer Conley’s ‘Fake Birthday’ & Explains Why His Birth Certificate is Incorrect
Happy Birthday!
Bachelor Nation saw Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards fall in love and get engaged on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since then, the two have been keeping fans updated with their adventures online and enjoying their lives as a couple.
Spencer and Jess recently celebrated one year of togetherness since meeting on “Paradise,” and this past week, they celebrated another major event — Spencer’s fake birthday.
Jess posted a picture of Spencer with his family on her Instagram Story and wished him a, “Happy fake birthday!” The Bachelor Nation star explained that although his birth certificate legally states his birthday is on May 10, Spencer wasn’t actually born until May 11th at 3 a.m.
After followers expressed some concerns, Jess explained further why his birth certificate is incorrect. She shared that his mom was in labor for around 36 hours, and the hospital worker who filled out the paperwork accidentally wrote his birth date as the day before.
“I’m sure they had been working over the course of the night shift, all the things, and it’s just an honest mistake,” Jess said, “An honest mess-up that it, obviously, went from the 10th to the 11th at midnight, so whoever filled it out put the wrong date. And they didn’t catch it until years later when he was getting his driver’s license and they had to bring his birth certificate.”
Jess expressed Spencer confirmed his birthday was the 11th and the DMV pointed out that it was different on his birth certificate. So ever since then, they’ve celebrated his birthday on both days.
“They could’ve gotten it changed and never did and now the hospital doesn't even have the records after 20 years or something,” she went on. “So, it’s an insane story, but he always celebrates on the 11th, but legally on his ID, on his birth certificate, on his passport, everything says May 10th. So, it’s super interesting and he just gets two days of celebrations now, and so it’s great.”
What a wild story! We’re wishing Spencer a happy belated birthday and fake birthday. We hope he had a great day!
