Rod Discusses Why Season 22 of ‘The Bachelorette’ is ‘Edging’ Fans — More Here
Getting candid.
The most recent season of “The Bachelorette” has been on pause for the past couple of months.
As fans wait to see what happens next, the men from Season 22 have been appearing on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to share more of their stories and help listeners get to know them better.
Rod joined the podcast this week to open up about his experience on the show and discussed why he feels like the season is “edging” fans.
He said, “If I could describe our season in one word, I would say at this point, it’s ‘edging.’” Explaining why he decided to use that description, Rod shared there’s been a lot of tension on and off the screen.
He expressed, “There’s so many layers to it and I’m like, it just seems so edging. It’s just, like, the tension is there. There’s so much tension with seeing how things are going and some things that happened in the house, but it’s almost like a little roller coaster. And not even in a bad way, you know? In like a, you just don’t know. You’re almost just like on the edge of your seat. Just a little bit, waiting to see what’s going to happen.”
Rod continued and shared more about his experience in the house on Night 1.
“It’s crazy, right, because after you do the whole limo thing… most of the — or at least for me — the jitters are kind of gone. Because it’s like that’s literally your first step,” he stated. “And once we [stepped] into the house, the energy in that house was wild! Every man that stepped in that house, people were cheering, people were clapping. Hadn’t even met them!”
The “Bachelorette” cast member also revealed he had some concerns about meeting the other men.
“It was insane. So like you step in and everybody’s yelling and everybody’s cheering. Everybody’s so happy to see you, and then you start just kind of connecting organically,” he shared. “There’s all these different outfits and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God, I love your boots, love your hat.’ And you just start connecting with everyone and everybody just seemed like such a genuine soul.
“And I was not necessarily concerned… but I’ve heard through the grapevine horror stories about being in a house with kind of just bad people or bad men. And when I walked in, I was like, ‘Man, I feel like I like everybody in here.’ I didn’t expect it.”
