Blake Moynes Reveals He Started His Wildlife Conservation Company ‘By Accident’
Changing the world.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Blake Moynes on Seasons 16 and 17 of “The Bachelorette,” as well as Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Blake is well known for his love of animals and currently works full time as a wildlife conservationist with his organization SOSA, created in 2023.
The Bachelor Nation star loves to keep followers updated on his life and global adventures through his social media posts.
And this week while answering fan questions on his Instagram Story, Blake revealed that he founded his company by accident.
Sharing how he transitioned from reality TV to wildlife conservation, he said, “By accident. I stopped posting mindless stuff and started posting what I actually cared about.”
He continued, “Turned out there was a massive gap in this space and a massive cry for help. The more I leaned in, the more orgs reached out. SOSA grew out of that.”
Blake then got candid and discussed the realities of what it’s like being a founder, revealing the pros and cons.
“Imagine pulling an all-nighter cramming for the biggest exam of your life… and you still don’t know if you’re gonna pass. Now do that everyday for years on a [noodle] budget,” he stated. “The flip side: creative freedom, a team fighting the same fight, and the fact that all of this is for wildlife. I’ll take it.”
The Bachelor Nation star also revealed that every week looks different depending on the conservation needs.
Various organizations from different destinations will reach out with time-sensitive requests or needing help raising awareness for a specific species, so “wherever the work is loudest is usually where [he’s] headed.”
Blake shared that his first solo trip to South Africa volunteering at a rhino orphanage at 29 years old motivated him for all the work he does now.
