Chelsea Vaughn Opens Up About ‘Starting Over in Your 30s’ and Why She Really Moved to L.A.
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Chelsea Vaughn on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and again on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Last year, she moved back to New York City after living in Mexico City for a while, revealing that she recently got out of a relationship.
And at the beginning of this year, Chelsea shared she officially moved out of NYC for good and is currently living in Los Angeles, California.
The Bachelor Nation star has been open online about adjusting to her new home, and recently admitted in a new post about why she decided to “start over” in her 30s.
She started off by expressing, “Starting over in your 30’s is equal parts freedom & grief.”
Chelsea continued and reflected on why she really decided to move, despite having previously loved living in New York.
“People keep asking me why did I move to L.A.,” she said. “‘I thought you loved New York? I thought you loved your boyfriend? Why would you move across the country?’ I think the better question is, why haven’t you ever moved?”
She went on, “The only way I’m going to grow and learn and continue to thrive in life is if I keep moving and having new experiences. Meeting new people and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. It’s only been four months, and I already feel like I’m learning so much about myself. Being independent and building everything really intentionally in my new apartment and my new life here. Had I stayed sitting in New York when I felt drawn to be somewhere else, I wouldn’t have learned any of that.”
Chelsea also stated that while she wants to get married and find a partner one day, she feels this time in her life to live independently is very important.
“I also just feel like living alone as a woman is such an amazing, important experience. Because yes, I do want to get married. And I do want a partner eventually, but I am acutely aware that this phase of my life is not going to last forever. So I’m just trying to really sit in it and enjoy it for what it is right now,” she shared.
Followers filled the comments with their encouragement and stated that they love Chelsea is doing what’s best for her.
We couldn’t agree more and we’re so happy she’s loving her time in L.A. We’re continuing to wish her all the best in this new chapter!
