Lauren Burnham Luyendyk Opens Up About Going Through an ‘Identity Crisis’ Postpartum
Sending love.
Bachelor Nation saw Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham Luyendyk fall in love and get engaged on Season 22 of “The Bachelor.”
Since then, the two got married and welcomed three children: Alessi and twins Senna and Lux.
Earlier last year, the couple announced that they were expecting their fourth baby. And in September 2025, Arie and Lauren welcomed a baby girl, Livvy Rowe Luyendyk!
The mom of four has been keeping followers updated with their lives as a family of six, and opened up this week about going through an identity crisis postpartum.
On her Instagram Story, Lauren expressed, “Hang w/ me while I get ready & chat about my [postpartum] identity crisis?” and got candid about struggles she’s currently facing.
“I feel like ever since I had Livvy, I’m on an up and down roller coaster about how I feel postpartum,” she said. “I feel like overall I’ve been super positive and just knowing that this is a phase that ends and it’s the last time I’m ever gonna be in this phase of my life, I honestly thought that I would never be here again. So I’m just trying to soak everything in that I possibly can because it is so fleeting even if it feels like it’s forever in the moment.”
Lauren continued and opened up about feeling affected by people’s comments regarding her body online.
She shared, “At the same time, I have these moments where, like I posted a Reel this week and then I had people commenting on my body back and forth. And they just caught me in a weak moment because I was sleep deprived and handling four kids at a wedding. And in those moments I can be really hard on myself.”
Lauren went on, “It does feel like I’m never gonna be who I believe myself to be again — who is a super healthy, I’m a fit person, I’m strong. But right now, my body doesn’t feel that way and it’s really hard for me to be in this for so long.”
The Bachelor Nation star stated that while she’s grateful for her body, she’s also hard on herself and wanted to offer perspective about the postpartum phase.
We are sending our love and support to Lauren. We think she is amazing, and this is a great reminder to always be kind to others and never comment on people’s bodies.
