Carol Freeman Reveals What It’s REALLY Like to Work for the Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman
Spilling the tea.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Carol Freeman on Season 2 of “The Golden Bachelor” as she looked for love with Mel Owens.
While things didn’t work out between Carol and Mel, she’s been keeping fans updated with her life on social media since her time on the show.
As Carol shared on “Golden Bachelor,” she works as the full-time manager of her pro-athlete nephew, Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman.
And now on the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast, she is opening up about what it’s really like to work for him. Carol shared that she first started working for her nephew when he was playing for the Atlanta Braves eight years ago.
She said, “I knew things were gonna probably progress and my brother, who’s Freddie’s dad, said, ‘Hey, do you wanna go help out Freddie, just kind of manage things?’ And I said, ‘Sure.’ He had only one child at this point, and I said, ‘I’ll go out for a season.’”
The Golden Bachelor Nation star knew she wanted to switch careers and leave Orange County for a bit, so she tried it out. After that season, Freddie asked if she would come back and stay, which she did. Carol explained her job involves managing Freddie’s household, like hiring new gardeners, chefs, etc., and doing anything to make their lives easier.
“He had a huge home in Atlanta, so it was like taking care of a building,” she recalled. “There’s always things breaking, always things needed to be done. I was running the house, anything personal assistant, like dry cleaning or his wife, he’s married, anything for her. Like getting makeup or just anything, grocery shopping, anything personal assistant, that’s I guess what I do.”
Carol also expressed that it’s sometimes difficult to balance managing Freddie while being family since she cares so much, stating she could be there “24/7.”
“I do anything, everything he wants me to. I do whatever it takes to try to take off stress from he and his wife and children,” she shared. “So whatever it takes to make, especially during baseball season, to make their [lives] more calm, that’s what I do. Like if it’s vendors coming in here or this and that, you know, the new pool guy or this and this. I try not to let him know about it, I just do it.”
Carol then revealed that she also used to drop off Freddie at games while he was still playing in Atlanta, since they lived so close to the stadium.
“I will tell you this, he is — well, the fans probably know this — he’s very generous,” she spilled, “During season, it’s a little more serious. I can’t talk to him about his game in the car on the way home. I used to [drive him]. I used to drop him off in Atlanta because we were only 15 minutes away, and one time I said to him, ‘Make a friend!’ I felt like I was dropping off my child at school. But yeah, I would drop him off sometimes.”
