Katie Thurston Reveals Her Liver ‘Isn’t Ok’ and Will Need Another Biopsy in New Cancer Update

Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston was diagnosed with breast cancer early last year and has been keeping followers updated throughout her treatment journey online.
Katie later shared that her breast cancer had spread to her liver and progressed to stage 4.
Soon after, she began a new treatment plan, and the tumors in her body started shrinking.
Recently, Katie temporarily paused her cancer treatments as she prepared for a double mastectomy last month, followed immediately by implants.
Since then, she has continued documenting her recovery and current treatment plan online. Now, Katie has revealed that she will need additional testing on her liver.
In a new update shared to her Instagram Story, Katie wrote, “My Liver isn’t Ok. Will need MRI and likely another biopsy.”
The former Bachelorette explained that the original reason she paused some of her cancer treatments was out of concern that they were damaging her liver.
However, after repeatedly stopping treatment, she said it has now reached a point “where it seems that maybe it’s something else.”
Katie shared, “The cancer had spread to my liver once. Is it back? Is it the Lupron injection? Because those spikes sure coincide with my injections.”
The Bachelor Nation star also revealed that her doctor wants her to undergo additional testing, but because she is leaving soon for an Alaskan cruise with her husband, Jeff, she is hoping to wait until they return.
“Scanxiety is not something I need,” she added at the end of her update.
