Bachelor Nation fans saw Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko fall in love and get engaged on Season 20 of “The Bachelorette.”

Since their time on the show, the two love to keep fans updated with their lives online and are currently planning for their wedding this year. 

Recently, there has been a trend among Bachelor Nation couples to get re-engaged and repropose on their own accord.

The couple is now weighing in with their thoughts on the trend and revealing whether or not they also would want to get re-engaged in a new episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour.” 

While chatting about Kelsey Anderson and Joey Graziadei’s recent re-engagement, Charity revealed that she and Dotun have discussed the idea before. 

“We definitely did,” she said. “I think we’re gonna maybe do it differently. It won’t be per se a whole, full reproposal because I think ultimately when we did have the conversation around it or just it was even brought up, we both like, ‘I don’t know. That was the best day of my life.’”

Charity continued, “I would not exchange it, and cameras involved or not. I think that’s, obviously, people do the re-engagement because it’s like, oh, a moment sacred to just the two people without anybody else on set and involved. But I mean, when I got engaged there was nobody else. Like, it was just me and Dotun. I don’t care if there were a million cameras. There could’ve been a camera right here. I was so locked in and I think I want that still to be something so special to us. But I think we’re going to do something similar but different in a different capacity because I don’t want to take away from that moment.” 

Dotun agreed and shared that he first saw the trend shortly after they got engaged, so now he’s trying to think of an idea that will be intentional to their relationship.

“I know something will come that’s more original that’s gonna mean more from the heart,” he said. “But seeing that, I was like, ‘Okay, it’s been done already.’ I don’t want to just take that same route. So Charity’s absolutely right. It’s gonna come in a different way… I think there’s something that’s gonna happen probably after our wedding.”

The former Bachelorette also discussed concern over possible critiques online and reassured that while she and Dotun want to do their own thing, they fully support those who’ve gotten re-engaged. 

She shared, “We live in that unfortunate territory where it’s like… I don’t want to be a Debbie downer, but like someone’s bound to say, ‘Oh, they did it because so and so, and so and so did it.’ And it’s like, no. So we just want to create something that’s very unique to us and meaningful, which again we have, we’re on the same page and in alignment about that.

“But, like, listen, I totally and fully support anybody who wants to get engaged 17 times. I’m like, ‘Yes, I love it! I love that!’ But in terms of what matters to me and Dotun, which I think we’re both, we think the same about a lot of things. It’s definitely going to be different. But yes, something special is gonna come.”
