Joe Amabile Reveals He Has an ‘Early Stage Brain Tumor’ and Will Need Brain Surgery
Sending all our love.
Bachelor Nation saw fan-favorite couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt fall in love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The two tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2023.
Since then, the couple has been keeping fans updated with their lives on social media.
And just now, Joe took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news that doctors recently discovered he has an “early stage brain tumor.”
In a new video, he revealed, “This past month has been a lot of ups and downs to say the least. After multiple scans and MRIs, I have what looks to be an early stage brain tumor. In two weeks, I’ll be undergoing a craniotomy to have it removed. Yeah, brain surgery.”
Joe went into more detail about how it was discovered and said that the doctors found a “lesion” in his brain after he got a full-body MRI.
He shared, “Then I had to go get a brain MRI, and there was a blueberry-sized lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor.”
Joe stated that he’s going to need brain surgery to “get it removed and get it tested” and then they’ll “go from there.”
“I definitely wasn’t expecting this,” he admitted. “I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, something like this never happened to me. And here I am, so yeah, I hope it’s — they say it’s really early stages. I hope they are able to get it all and I’m fine, but I will keep you updated.”
The Bachelor Nation star continued getting candid in his caption, writing, “I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends ❤️”
He went on, “I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media, but ultimately this is now part of my life now, so might as well. Onto a new journey.”
We are sending all our love to Joe and his family. We’re keeping them in our thoughts during this time and wishing Joe all the best as he navigates this next chapter.
