An unexpected twist.

Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple Jade Roper Tolbert and Tanner Tolbert first fell in love and got engaged on the beach during Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Since then, they’ve gotten married and welcomed three children together: Emerson, Brooks, and Reed.

The couple loves keeping followers updated on their lives on social media, and recently celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary. 

Now, Tanner has taken to social media to joke that he might “file for divorce” from Jade due to an unexpected prank she pulled on him. 

In a new video, he revealed, “You guys, I might need to file for divorce because my wife just played the worst prank possibly ever on me, that she didn’t even know she was playing, because it had been like three years in the making, apparently.”

The Bachelor Nation star went on to share that Jade had bought him dissolvable swim trunks years ago and he had never worn them until their current trip to Hawaii. 

“We drove down to the local beach. We were gonna get in the water with the kids, all that fun stuff. I jumped in, hit my first little wave, all of a sudden it felt like my swimsuit busted a hole right through the butt crack,” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, what just happened?’ I told Jade about it, it’s getting worse and worse. I come out of the water, my swimsuit is basically gone. It’s in shreds after, like, mere seconds in the water.”

Tanner revealed that he had to make the “walk of shame” up the beach and borrow a pair of Jade’s shorts to get their car from valet since he forgot to bring a towel. He noted people were staring at him and he teased, “Yeah, not good… Good luck, Jade.” 

Jade reposted the video on her Instagram Story and said, “Whoopsies.” She also posted a screenshot of her ordering the swim trunks back in 2021 and shared, “A prank 5 years in the making. 🤣🤣” 

The Bachelor Nation star followed up with a photo of the two of them posing by the water at sunset and teased, “It’s ok, he still loves me 🥰🤣”

People filled the comments of Tanner’s video with their reactions, such as Adam Gottschalk, who said, “This is the Jade we’ve been waiting for 😂😂” and Arie Luyendyk added, “Haha I would die.”
