Sydney Lotuaco Shares Honest Postpartum Update and Adjusting to Life with 2 Kids
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Sydney Lotuaco Wehby on Season 23 of “The Bachelor” and Season 6 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Sydney eventually found love off-screen with Nick Wehby, and he proposed to her in December 2021. The two tied the knot in May 2023, and in 2024 they welcomed their first child together — a baby girl named Remy Lee Wehby.
Earlier this year, Sydney announced that she was pregnant with her second child and officially welcomed another baby girl, Brynn Maree, last month.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star has taken to social media to share an honest update about her postpartum experience, as well as adjusting to life as a mom of two.
In a new video online, she said, “Almost four weeks postpartum. I feel like that happened so fast.”
Sydney went on and admitted that she was really nervous about adjusting from having one kid to two.
“I was super nervous going from one to two babies. We have a daughter; she just turned 2. I was afraid she’d be mad at us. We tried to prep her as much as we could,” she confessed. “[We] read her books, bought her multiple baby dolls. It didn’t seem like she understood the concept until [her baby sister] was actually here.”
Sydney also shared that she didn’t have her first daughter initially come meet the new baby in the hospital because she felt like it would be easier to introduce them at home.
“When it came time for them to meet, instead of us coming in with her from the hospital, I went in the house first and then I had my husband bring her in once I felt like we were ready and settled,” she said. “I think it also depends on your kid, but I really liked doing it that way. My daughter took meeting her sister really well.”
The Bachelor Nation star did reveal that the first week was “rough” as they tried to figure out their new routine. Sydney confessed, “I do feel like… mom guilt almost immediately.” She also shared that she noticed her first daughter acted out a little bit, especially with her husband, but things eventually smoothed over.
Sydney said she’s been finding ways to “center [herself] in the day,” such as meditating in the shower, leaning on her husband’s support, and having an idea of what to expect this time around.
“I think the hardest thing the first time I was postpartum was the anxiety that I felt. You just don’t know what to expect that adds to the anxiety. It’s definitely not as scary as I thought it would be. I feel like it’s come together quicker than it did the first time around,” she said. “Now that we’ve successfully gone from one to two, now I feel like I want so many more. Is that normal to feel like that? So yeah, don’t be scared.”
We love hearing from Sydney and we’re glad she’s doing well. We’re continuing to send her and her family love!
