Joe Amabile Shares How His ‘Bachelorette’ Experience Is Affecting His Mindset Post Brain Surgery

Bachelor Nation saw fan-favorite couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt fall in love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The couple tied the knot in 2023 and has been keeping fans updated with their lives on social media since.
Earlier last month, Joe shared the heartbreaking news online that doctors discovered he has an “early stage brain tumor” and needed brain surgery.
This month, the Bachelor Nation star revealed that the doctors were able to successfully remove the entire tumor during his surgery, and he has been diagnosed with a very low-grade astrocytoma.
Joe and Serena have been keeping followers updated on his recovery journey on social media.
And this week, Joe posted a new video online, sharing how his experience on “The Bachelorette” is now affecting his mindset after his brain surgery.
In the post, he said, “It has been three weeks since my surgery. This is my mindset moving forward. When I was 30, I went on ‘The Bachelorette.’ And I got sent home Night 1, like most of you know. I thought at the time, I thought it was the worst thing that could ever happen to me. Like, it felt pathetic; I felt pathetic. It wound up being the best thing.”
The Bachelor Nation star continued, explaining how he’s hoping to stay positive during his health journey.
“At 40, I got diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Way worse than getting sent home Night 1,” he shared. “But I’m going to figure out how I could turn this into the best thing ever. So if anyone’s got any suggestions…”
Joe then added, “Keep in mind I’m starting from a really good place and I’m one of the lucky ones. They removed the whole tumor, it came back low grade, and there’s a new medication that puts to sleep whatever tumor cells I have left over.”
