Actress Busy Philipps Introduced Joe Amabile to Her Doctors Amid Brain Tumor Diagnosis

Bachelor Nation saw fan-favorite couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt fall in love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The couple tied the knot in 2023 and has been keeping fans updated with their lives on social media since.
Earlier last month, Joe shared the news online that doctors discovered he has an “early-stage brain tumor” and needed brain surgery.
This month, the Bachelor Nation star revealed that the doctors were able to successfully remove the entire tumor during his surgery, and he has been diagnosed with a very low-grade astrocytoma.
Joe and Serena have been keeping followers updated on his recovery journey on social media.
And this week, well-known actress Busy Philipps revealed online that she reached out to the Bachelor Nation star due to her own brain tumor diagnosis.
Busy shared that she had a similar experience to Joe in that she discovered she had a “grade 2 oligodendroglioma,” a rare, slow-growing tumor — after also getting a full-body scan with Prenuvo.
“If you’ve been following Joe Amabile … from ‘The Bachelor,’ he’s been documenting in real time [his brain tumor diagnosis],” the actress stated on her Instagram Story, “I reached out to him because several of my friends sent me his original post.”
Busy continued and revealed that she introduced Joe to her doctors while reaching out.
“We have almost the exact same story — prenuvo scan, found this lesion in our brains, almost the exact same kind of tumor,” she said. “His is slightly different than mine, we know now. I introduced him to my doctors.”
The actress ended her post with love for the Bachelor Nation star and called him her “brain tumor brother.”
“He’s like my brain tumor brother. It’s so weird,” she expressed. “But he’s been documenting it in real time. His recovery, he’s just a couple weeks out now. He’s going to run the marathon. He’s doing great. Love you Joe.”
