Joe Amabile Opens Up About His Astrocytoma Treatment, Struggling with Anxiety, and More
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation saw fan-favorite couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt fall in love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.” The couple tied the knot in 2023.
In July, Joe shared the news that they discovered an “early stage brain tumor” and he needed brain surgery.
Earlier last month, the Bachelor Nation star revealed the doctors were able to successfully remove the entire tumor during his surgery.
He has since been diagnosed with a very low-grade astrocytoma and revealed he will be on treatment for life.
Joe has been keeping followers updated on his recovery journey on social media.
And recently, he took to his Instagram Story to open up about his astrocytoma treatment as well as struggles with anxiety.
In a new video, Joe gave an update and revealed that he has to take anti-seizure medication every day.
He shared, “All right, they, uh, this is… anti-seizure medicine. They cut me down to once a day for another week and a half. So, every day at 10 a.m.”
Joe has also been starting to run again while in recovery and opened up about struggling with anxiety.
“Been up since 4 a.m. because of anxiety. But that is what it is. Some nights it’s worse than others,” he stated.
Joe went on, “Just went on a 3-mile run, my third run. And I feel good. I feel good now, but probably going to rest the rest of the day.”
We’re continuing to send all our love and support to Joe and Serena. We’re wishing him all the best with his recovery. You’ve got this, Joe!
