Amy Kaplan Welcomes 2nd Grandchild & Shares Daughter Allie’s Scary Birth Story
Baby is here!
Fans got to know and love Amy Kaplan as she looked for love on Season 2 of “The Golden Bachelor.”
As fans might know, Amy is also the mom of famous twin influencers Allie and Lexi Kaplan. Earlier this year, both Allie and Lexi announced that they were expecting their first babies.
And in June, Amy became a grandmother for the very first time with the arrival of Lexi’s baby boy, Jordan Arthur.
Now, about three months later, Amy has welcomed her second grandchild as Allie just welcomed a baby girl named Romy Madeline on Friday, September 4.
The Golden Bachelor Nation star opened up to Us Weekly about the birth and revealed that it was a scary experience at first.
Amy shared, “It was a scare to first meet Romy… She pooped in utero. When she was born, there was no cry. She did not cry. She was limp like a rag doll.”
Amy continued, recounting the nerve-racking moments right after Romy’s birth.
“The nurses, all of a sudden, they’re tapping, tapping, tapping. I’m freaking out. Lexi’s freaking out. Allie’s like, ‘She’s not crying.’ So, they whisked her away,” she remembered.
Amy went on, “I guess [Allie] was prepared, but [she] didn’t know the seriousness that the baby was going to have to get the fluid sucked out of her lungs and put on oxygen and everything.”
The Bachelor Nation star expressed that it “felt like hours” but was most likely only a few minutes. Amy then reassured that Romy is better now and perfectly healthy.
“Thank God she cried. It was really scary. And she’s healthy and perfect, but it was scary. She was not breathing,” she shared. “They said she’s perfect…So that was a big relief after everything that happened, because it was a little bit traumatic with her coming into the world for the first couple of minutes. But everything’s good.”
How scary! We’re so glad Allie and Romy are doing well and we couldn’t be happier for Amy and their entire family on their newest bundle of joy. Welcome to the world, Romy!
