Charity Lawson & Dotun Olubeko are Having 2 Weddings — Plus, Updates on Their Plans to Leave NYC
Spilling the tea.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Charity Lawson fall in love and get engaged to Dotun Olubeko on Season 20 of “The Bachelorette.”
Since their time on the show, the two have been enjoying time with family and friends and are living together in New York City.
The couple is currently planning their wedding, and Charity previously opened up about their upcoming nuptials and possibly planting roots in a new city someday.
And now, the former Bachelorette has revealed on the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast that she and Dotun are not only having one but two weddings.
While chatting with hosts Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles, she shared, “Let me clear the air. I’ll clear it on here. So we are having two weddings.”
Charity went on and clarified that she and Dotun are planning one wedding for 2027, and the other will be this year.
“Our traditional Nigerian wedding, which is the one that I think most people are on the edge of their seats for, that is [in] 2027,” she shared. “I won’t say obviously when, but our traditional American white wedding is this year. And we’re incorporating some Nigerian elements into that as well.”
The Bachelor Nation star then confessed that she’s been practicing calling Dotun her husband and said, “I’m like, ‘This is weird but I like it.’”
Charity also revealed that they plan to leave New York after the wedding and have three locations on their list of possible places to relocate to.
“I need space. I’ve gotta get out of the city,” she expressed. “After our wedding, we’re gonna go on this world tour of our top locations. We’re considering, as we know, Charlotte. Which I think most people know. We are considering California, and Texas is on the list, believe it or not. Texas is on there because I want to buy a home. I need a big home.”
Charity then explained that she has family in Charlotte, which is another draw to move.
“I have family [in Charlotte]. My brother lives there and some extended family, but I just love the area,” she shared. “It’s a really big, growing city. But I just need a little bit slower pace. I wanna have access to nature — that’s been a big thing on my list. Space, but also having a fun, vibrant community.”
Charity admitted that Dotun is “biased to Cali because he was raised there,” but she’s slowly convincing him on the idea of living in Charlotte.
“He likes it. We just need to spend quality time, so not just like a week. We need to be there for like two weeks, three weeks and get a feel. And go out, see what our social life would be like, community,” she stated.
