Julia Rae Reveals She Ended Her Marriage in New Post: ‘Difficult Realization’

Bachelor Nation got to know Julia Rae on the very first season of “The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart.”
Since her time on the show, she has been keeping fans updated with her life on social media and found love off-screen with long-term boyfriend Matt Lucido.
The two got engaged in the beginning of 2024, and later tied the knot on that New Year’s Eve.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star has revealed in a new post online that she decided to end her marriage.
Julia has been training for the New York City marathon, coming up this fall. And over a video of her running, she said, “What was actually happening in my life the week I signed up for the NYC Marathon…”
Julia then opened up in her caption and revealed that she decided to end her marriage at the beginning of this year.
She said, “At the beginning of this year, I signed up for the NYC Marathon. Around the same time, I came to the difficult realization that I needed to end my marriage.”
Expanding on the reason why, Julia shared, “It wasn’t a decision I took lightly. It was one I knew I had to make — for myself, for my heart, for my future, and for the family I still hope to have someday.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared the real reason why she signed up for the NYC marathon and how training for it has helped her.
“I signed up because I was determined to pour myself into something,” she expressed. “A training schedule. Miles on my shoes. Showing up on the days it was hard, and on the days I really didn’t want to. That’s exactly what I’ve needed these past eight months.”
Julia stated that she will be running for not only the promise that she made for herself, but also for the cystic fibrosis community.
“Crossing that finish line won’t just be about the miles. I’m running for the cystic fibrosis community. And I’m running this marathon for me,” she shared. “I couldn’t care less what the clock says on November 1st. This is a promise I made to myself. And I’m keeping it.”
