Wells Adams Reflects on His Time in Bachelor Nation and Which ‘BIP’ Couple Surprised Him
Looking back.
Bachelor Nation fans know Wells Adams from his time on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” and as our beloved bartender on “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Wells married the love of his life, actress Sarah Hyland, in 2022, and the two have been keeping followers updated with their lives online.
Wells loves to hang out with fellow Bachelor Nation stars and recently went on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast to reflect on his time in Bachelor Nation.
While on the podcast, Wells and Kaitlyn realized they’ve been a part of the franchise for about 10 years.
“2016 is when I started,” he said. “I thought I was so cool back then. I really was a hipster, living in East Nashville, and it was a lot of leather jackets, I rode a motorcycle around… It was a lot of slouchy beanies. That was like my trademark for a while, and now I’m like the most country club-looking kid in the world.”
Reflecting on his time since “The Bachelorette,” he shared, “Looking back, we were such different people back then.” He also opened up about being the bartender on “Bachelor in Paradise.”
“That show is so much fun to do,” he stated. “It’s the most fun, it’s silly and stuff… It’s weird, though; when I first started [bartending in ‘Paradise’], I was a peer to everyone. I had just come off the show, and everyone was kind of my age. And now I do it and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m like Unc. I’m like the old guy,” he joked.
Wells also revealed that over the years, he’s been able to tell immediately if someone is there for the right reasons as well as if a couple is going to get engaged. “It’s usually in the first couple days where you’re like, ‘Well, they’re gonna get engaged,’” he shared. “100%, and then you have the slow burns, which are kind of nice.”
The “Paradise” bartender then revealed which couple surprised him the most. He admitted that he didn’t think Dean and Caelynn Bell were going to leave “BIP” together.
“Let me preface this by saying that Dean is one of my closest friends. And Caelynn and my wife… they’re great friends. So don’t be offended by this,” he said. “But when he came back, I brought all the girls around the bar and I was like, ‘What do you guys think is gonna happen?’ And everyone’s like, ‘She’s gonna leave with him,’ and I was like, ‘What! Why?! Are you kidding me? That’s crazy.’ And they’re like, ‘No, it’s romantic.’ I’m like, ‘It’s romantic??’” he recalled, laughing.
Wells also remembered Night 1 from his time on “The Bachelorette” and confessed that he thought he was going to get the First Impression Rose.
“I remember there was a run of Bachelorettes where the First Impression Rose was the winner,” he recalled. “On our season, Jordan got it. And by the way… that moment, I totally thought I was getting the First Impression Rose. 100%, because I came in with the band. I came in with All-4-One that sang, ‘I Swear.’ And they followed me around the entire night… and I had her dying laughing the entire night.”
He went on, “I remember when it was time for the [First Impression Rose] — we knew she was about to go pick. And if you watch it back, she walks by and I stand up.”
We always love hearing from Wells and it’s so fun to look back on his Bachelor Nation journey!
