Grant Ellis Claims ‘Overlap’ Between Juliana Pasquarosa Breakup and Her Meeting Her Fiancé
Looking back.
Bachelor Nation saw Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa get engaged on Season 29 of “The Bachelor.”
At the end of last year, the two shared that they decided to part ways. Since then, Juliana and Grant have kept followers updated with their lives online.
Earlier this year, Juliana found love with creative producer Michael Fiore, and the couple announced their engagement on Instagram last month.
Grant hasn’t shared much about his feelings on his and Juliana’s breakup until now. While on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, he opened up about his perspective.
“I’m gonna tell you guys the funniest story [of] how she actually met her fiancé,” he told podcast co-host Rachel Recchia. “We were going through the breakup and Jason Tartick and them reached out to me. I was gonna meet with them, I was gonna sign with the agency but I was like, ‘I have another agent I’m chilling right now.’ But I gave Juliana Jason Tartick’s number and I was like, ‘You know, get [yourself] some brand deals.’”
“They invited her — this is going on on our breakup — they invited her to a trip to New York and that’s where she met her fiancé,” he continued. “I didn’t kind of know what was going on, I was kind of in the dark. But looking back, I’m like, ‘D*mn. Okay. The agency, that trip, that’s where she met him.’ And then they ended up, you know, getting together. So that was a crazy story.”
Rachel asked Grant if he thinks there was any “overlap,” and the former Bachelor answered that he felt like there was.
“Oh, 100%. 100%. It wasn’t like – we had already discussed at the time that, like we already knew it wasn’t going to work. So, it’s not like any shade to her. But I took some time,” he shared. “But you never, I hadn’t, I’m sure that if I would have met somebody, I probably would have been slower. But I would’ve still maybe — I don’t know. I don’t know how I would’ve handled the situation.”
Grant also gave a closer look at their breakup and why he thinks it didn’t work out.
“I can only speak for myself. I can’t speak for what’s going on in somebody else’s mind, but I think there was a lot in the way, you know,” he said. “But from my perspective, I tried to make it work. I would have been, because you know it’s an engagement for me. So, it was our season, I was the lead, so it reflects the decisions… based off of what went on during the show and everything. And, you know, I tried my best. But I ultimately don’t think that — looking at who she’s with now and then looking at me, we’re two different, opposite ends of the spectrum. So, I just think that I wasn’t, we weren’t compatible. That’s really, I haven’t thought about it for a while but it being brought back up, I think that is what the ultimate thesis that I came up with. We just were not compatible.”
