Katie Thurston Answers Fan Questions About Her Chin Lipo Procedure and Why She Got It

Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston was diagnosed with breast cancer early last year and has kept her followers updated throughout her treatment journey online.
This year, Katie underwent a double mastectomy and has continued to keep her followers updated on her health and recovery.
Recently, the Bachelor Nation star revealed that she underwent a cosmetic procedure, chin lipo, writing, “After so many required medical surgeries, I decided to do one for myself.”
The former Bachelorette has been sharing updates on her recovery online, and this week, she took to her Instagram Story to answer fan questions about her procedure.
Katie first revealed the reason why she decided to get chin lipo, stating, “This has been an insecurity of mine even during my healthiest lifestyle. Had a consultation that confirmed some of my insecurities were purely genetics.”
She then shared that she was able to get the procedure due to a break she’s been on for her cancer treatments.
While answering if she did anything to prep, she said, “No prep. In fact, they want you to stop supplements. However, I was only able to do this due to the extended break I’ve been on for my cancer meds. I expect to finally start those again in October if my liver is happy.”
The Bachelor Nation star also confessed that the first 24 hours after her procedure the pain was at a “level 10.” But “once the drain was removed, it dropped to like a six.” Then by the third day she was feeling much better.
Someone then pointed out that Katie previously mentioned there’s a chance she could regret the procedure and asked why.
She said, “During the healing phase, you're swollen and lumpy and bumpy. Even the scar under my chin looked like lips for a hot second. The time between surgery and desire results isn’t instant gratification.”
