Zac Clark Gives Tips for NYC Marathon After Running It 11 Times — Read Here!
Sharing his experience.
Bachelor Nation got to know and love Zac Clark as he looked for love on Season 16 of “The Bachelorette.”
Since his time on the show, Zac has been keeping followers updated with his life online and has become an avid runner.
The Bachelor Nation star has competed in many half marathons and full marathons over the years, including the New York City marathon, which he has run 11 times.
People are currently training for this fall’s NYC marathon, and Zac has taken to social media to share his tips as they prepare for the race in five weeks.
In a new carousel post on Instagram, he shared his best advice from the starting line all the way to after the finish line.
At the beginning, Zac shared, “Be patient and don’t burn energy foolishly. It’s a long morning…wear warm clothes, trust your training and don’t stress about bathroom lines. **Pro tip: If your time is important stop hydrating 30-45 minutes before you start.”
Zac then gave tips for each major location along the marathon course, including the Staten Island Bridge and Brooklyn, and emphasized not going too fast to maintain pace throughout the race and not burn out too fast.
Zac also encouraged runners not to check on time and instead “run by feel.” He shared, “Check in with your body and mind.” He then advised that by the time they reach Manhattan, “It’s okay to stop, see your people, and use that love to propel you forward for the last 10 miles.”
The Bachelor Nation star then told people to not negotiate with negative thoughts and embrace how far they’ve come. And by the time they reach the finish line, he shared, “Regardless if you hit your goal time or not, try and remind yourself that you’re a part of the 1% population who accomplished this.”
After the marathon, Zac advised to go out and be around people if there’s enough energy left but also warned there will be a “running hangover and emotional letdown” the week following due to training so hard beforehand. He shared, “Do something nice, get a massage, jump in the sauna.”
We always love hearing from Zac and we appreciate him sharing these amazing tips. We’re so proud of everyone training for the marathon and we’re cheering them on!
