Abigail Heringer Opens Up About Her Concerns Raising Kids as a Deaf Parent
Keeping it real.
Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple Abigail Heringer Erb and Noah Erb famously met on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and fell in love.
Since their time on the show, the two have moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, tied the knot in 2024, and expanded their family with their two dogs, Maki and Velvet.
During her time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Abigail opened up about her hearing loss and how she wears a cochlear implant.
Since then, she’s continued to share her experience with her followers on social media and loves answering fan questions online.
Abigail has previously revealed that she and Noah are currently preparing to start a family.
And this week on her Instagram Story, the Bachelor Nation star opened up about her concerns of raising kids as a deaf parent.
While answering fan questions, Abigail admitted, “I do think a lot about what motherhood will look like for me as a deaf parent! How will I hear our baby when I’m sleeping? Will I need to sleep with my CI on? Will listening breaks even exist anymore? 😂Will I be able to understand them when they first start talking?”
Abigail went on, expressing that she feels raising a child will teach her new sides of her hearing loss.
She said, “So many little things I’ve never really had to think about. I know motherhood is a huge learning curve for anyone, but I think it’ll also introduce a whole new side of my hearing loss that I’ll have to learn to navigate.”
The Bachelor Nation star shared that while it will be a transition for her and Noah, she’s excited for that chapter.
“I’m sure there will be a lot of trial and error figuring out what works best for our family, but I’m really excited for that chapter too whenever it happens for us,” Abigail stated.
We love hearing from Abigail and appreciate her vulnerability and honesty. We’re so excited for her and Noah’s future, and we love following their love story!
