It goes without saying that Luke Parker’s actions took up most of the breathing room during Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette.” From body slamming people on dates to yelling at other men to “stay in your own lane,” attention always seemed to divert back to him, much to the dismay of everyone else in the house.

The last time we saw Luke, Hannah sent him home after a contentious conversation over Fantasy Suites and premarital sex. We saw in the previews that he refused to take “no” for an answer and decided to come back to fight for Hannah one last time.

This season’s episode of “Men Tell All” focused heavily on Luke in the Hot Seat and how he felt he handled his time on the show as a whole. The Gainesville, Georgia native said he “felt like she was making a mistake” and also admitted to being “prideful and arrogant.”

What set most people off — including Hannah — was that Luke said, “If I could go back, I wouldn’t change a thing.” He also mentioned that he believes a “man is supposed to lead and guide a woman in a relationship.”

Hannah didn’t hold back in the Hot Seat during “Men Tell All” or after the show. “I am so over being slut shamed and felt like that makes me not a woman of faith,” she asserted at one point. “I live my life and make mistakes every day… I’m not going to say that me having sex in a windmill is the scarlet letter on my chest. I am not going to stand here and feel that way and you’re not going to make me feel that way.”

Bachelor Nation talked with Hannah after “Men Tell All” about her confrontation with Luke and how she hopes her story can help other women.

“Would I rather not talk about my sex life all the time? Yes, but I try to look at it as a bigger picture and the conversations that it will spur for things that we really do need to talk about,” the Bachelorette explains.

Many women felt empowered and proud of Hannah for defending her personal decisions and sending Luke home in Crete. Bachelor Nation asked Hannah what this title of “empowered woman” meant to her.

“Being an empowered woman is knowing that you have power. It means knowing you have a voice and you are strong. That strength doesn’t come from anything that a man is giving you and telling you,” she shares.

Hannah hopes that her story, experience, and ability to “bounce back” will inspire other women to stand up for themselves if they’re in toxic situations.
