When ABC announced the initial “Bachelor in Paradise” cast, it consisted of 11 women and 10 men. Kristina Schulman arrived on the second day, and the saga of Blake Horstmann only intensified.
However, there’s another main character in “Paradise” — often heard, but never seen — this season: Stagecoach Festival. A love triangle got a little messy at the popular country music festival this year and involved Kristina, Blake, and Caelynn Miller-Keyes.
On Wednesday, Kristina poked fun at Stagecoach and its presence on the season. She posted a picture of herself posing under a sign at the festival and standing on a pile of hay wearing a short red dress and tan boots. She captioned it, “when everyone is asking where your red dress is from.”
Blake and Kristina met up at Stagecoach in April 2019 and, as Kristina would say, “hung out.” Blake and Caelynn “hung out” the next night. According to Caelynn, Blake was messaging fellow “Paradise” cast member Hannah Godwin the next morning. Caelynn told many of her friends on the show that she and Blake had a relationship and were going to “skip ‘Paradise’ all together and be together.”
Blake avoided Caelynn the first day or so in “Paradise” and took Tayshia Adams out on a date. Caelynn confronted him about their past and told him she was sick of feeling like a “disgusting secret.”
Caelynn told Blake, “Just acknowledge me don’t ignore me and make me feel like a dirty secret. I feel like a slimy, dirty secret and I’m sick of it.”
On August 7, the same day as the second episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” aired, Blake released a series of screenshots of text messages between himself and Caelynn. Blake said doing that was “the last thing I wanted to do,” but he felt like he needed to “speak my truth.”
The next day, Caelynn responded and wrote that she was “absolutely mortified our private texts were put out there for the world to see.”
In the words of Chris Harrison, “Blake himself was an absolute dumpster fire. He was just a car wreck.”
