'Bachelor in Paradise' Couple Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt Are Engaged
“Bachelor in Paradise” has another success story!
Kevin Wendt proposed to his girlfriend Astrid Loch on August 28 in Toronto, Ontario, where they live together. The happy couple both posted photos and announced the news on Instagram. The romantic pictures showed Kevin getting down on one knee near the water with the skyline on the horizon.
Both Astrid and Kevin kept it casual in their attire on the big day. Kevin wore jeans and a black shirt while Astrid donned a white tank top and jeans.
Astrid posted the photos and captioned it, “I could have sworn the world stood still in this moment. A moment I’ll never forget. Just you + me. @kevin.c.wendt you’ve taught me to love, learn and grow and I can’t believe you’ve chosen me to spend this crazy life with. Wonder if I’ll ever stop smiling? Probably not. In this together, forever. ♥️”

Kevin, too, shared the same proposal pictures and wrote just as sweet of a caption. He typed, “You’ll never walk alone again. From here on out, we run together. Astrid you are my family, babe. Forever.”
According to People magazine, Astrid had absolutely no idea and was “so clueless” about what was going to happen on their end-of-summer picnic. Kevin played the hit song “Tequila” by Dan + Shay as an homage to their time together on Season 5 of “Paradise.”
Astrid added, “You never get a surprise really by me, ever. I feel like I pay attention to everything, and I had absolutely no clue.”
The firefighter told the magazine that proposing to her was a “no-brainer.” He said, “I see her more as my family than any kind of girlfriend, and I just knew I couldn’t ever let her go.”
The ring has a special meaning as well. Kevin and Astrid shared with People that he got the ring from Wendt’s Jewellry, a store that was opened by his great-great-grandfather, Charles Wendt. Kevin designed it himself and surprised her with the look.
Congratulations, Astrid and Kevin!
