Inside Arie & Lauren Luyendyk's Life Post-'Bachelor'
Life looks absolutely rosy for Season 22 Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his wife Lauren Burnham Luyendyk.
Arie and Lauren met in 2017 (the season aired at the beginning of 2018), and their engagement didn’t exactly start off traditionally. The Virginia native was a dark horse front-runner throughout the season, and her soft-spoken demeanor and calm nature quickly infatuated the former race car driver.
Not to sound too much like Chris Harrison, but Arie’s season finale will definitely go down in “Bachelor” history as one of the most jaw-dropping shockers yet. He proposed to Becca Kufrin, but then broke off their engagement. He and Lauren got together and he proposed to her on “After the Final Rose.”
“I can’t imagine a life without you,” Arie said to Lauren onstage. “I truly believe you are my soul mate.”
Since that May 2018 proposal, Arie and Lauren have embarked on a number of journeys together. They’ve traveled around the world, venturing to far-flung destinations such as Barcelona, Peru, Iceland, Australia, and more.
The honeymoon phase of their relationship continued straight into an actual pre-honeymoon.

Lauren moved to Phoenix and they officially became homeowners and co-parents to their two dogs. In what already felt like non-stop excitement for these two, the happy news just kept coming.
On November 14, Arie and Lauren announced that they were expecting their first child together. He captioned a photo of them kissing and holding the ultrasound photos, “Nothing compares, absolutely nothing compares to the moment you find out you’re going to be a dad! We cried, we laughed and it really was such a special moment for us, we’re so freakin’ happy!”
Arie told “Today” he had an inkling Lauren was pregnant because she had cravings for “the funniest types of food,” such as “meatballs in the morning.” They took a test and Arie held the stick while Lauren went into the other room. He explained to “Today,” “I was in the bathroom and watched as that window changed to a plus sign. I immediately started to cry.”
Arie and Lauren tied the knot on January 12 in a romantic ceremony in Maui, Hawaii. Longtime host Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony. Many former “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” cast members attended the big day, including Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici Lowe.
After the nuptials, the newlyweds returned to Arizona and only had to wait a few more months before welcoming baby girl, Alessi Ren Luyendyk. Lauren gave birth to Alessi, who already has her own verified Instagram account, on May 29.

They’ve been adjusting to and loving the parenthood life with their little girl ever since.
According to Us Weekly, they’re already planning on having baby no. 2. Lauren told the magazine, “We’re thinking maybe like when she’s 2. We kind of want them spread out a little bit.”
Arie and Lauren’s love story keeps going: On September 10, they announced on Instagram that they got married again in Las Vegas. Lauren wrote on Instagram, “We always joked about ditching our plans for the first wedding and eloping in Vegas so we thought, what the heck, why not have both? Best decision we ever made as this day will be a hilarious memory we will cherish forever.”
