Kaitlyn Bristowe Reminisces on Her 'Beautiful Love Story' With Jason Tartick After 1 Year
Time flies when you’re in love!
Jason Tartick and Kaitlyn Bristowe met exactly one year ago, but it feels as if their relationship has been blossoming for far longer. On Wednesday, Kaitlyn posted a photo of herself, Jason and Olivia Caridi after recording an episode of Kaitlyn’s podcast, “Off the Vine.” She wrote a long caption about how Jason helped turn a difficult day around and how it was the start of “a goofy friendship.”
Kaitlyn prefaced the synopsis of her relationship with the warning “EMOTIONAL ALERT.” She began, “On this day last year.... I walked into a studio in Seattle to podcast with Jason and Olivia. I almost canceled because I had been bawling my eyes out in an Uber, going through some crap, and I was crying on FaceTime to my dad when he came in.”
Jason, apparently, had also “just cried too at a charity event he came from,” which he told her after hugging her. Kaitlyn said, “He looked at me and said, ‘let’s have a soft Tuesday together’. He almost canceled as well because he had an eye infection.”

Kaitlyn explained in her caption that Jason “brought a nice bottle of wine” and she brought Olivia along “because I thought I would need someone to help keep the energy up, since I was so sad.”
She continued, “But If you spend two seconds with Jason you realize his energy is electric and you can’t help but be in a good mood. My day had changed. I didn’t know what was going to happen. I thought of Jason as a friend, and wanted him to be the bachelor. He actually helped me through a hard time. I just wanted him to be happy.”
The Spade & Sparrows owner concluded her note, “J, I met you 365 days ago and from what felt like a goofy friendship, turned into a beautiful love story. Thank you for always lifting me up, being my rock, and thank you for stepping foot into that studio with your Cyclopes eye. You’re my Lobster.”
It would take a few months for Kaitlyn and Jason’s relationship to grow into something more romantic. Kaitlyn was still with her ex-fiancé Shawn Booth at the time, but they announced their separation shortly thereafter.
Jason publicly asked Kaitlyn out on a date in January on an episode of her podcast, and she gladly accepted. Since then, their relationship has moved forward at a steady pace. In May, Jason announced on “Off the Vine” that he decided to move to Nashville from Seattle to be closer to Kaitlyn. Plus, they rescued their absolutely adorable dog, Ramen.
We sure are glad Kaitlyn and Jason decided not to cancel their appearances on the podcast, because clearly, it all happened for the right reasons!
