Shawn Booth Says Bachelor Nation 'Lifted Me Up' During the 2019 NYC Marathon
Bachelor Nation was out in full force at the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday.
A number of former “Bachelorette” contestants, including one Bachelorette herself, ran the 26.2-mile race through the five boroughs of New York. Andi Dorfman, Tyler Cameron and Shawn Booth kept their followers updated during their training process over the last few months, and the latter gave a special shout-out to the ever-supportive fan base.
Shawn posted a number of videos on his Instagram Story that offered post-race updates and answered questions. He said at one point, “Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent super nice, super supportive, and encouraging messages to me today. It means the world to me. You guys are awesome and if I haven’t gotten back to your text, I’m sorry. I’ve been dying over here in my hotel room.” We can’t blame him!
His clip continued, “Big thank you to Bachelor Nation. It’s a real thing. You guys were out there today and it was a ton of fun. I loved hearing ‘Shawn B.,’ and I felt like when I was struggling or starting to hurt, you guys lifted me up. Your cheering made a huge, huge difference. Thank you for that.”
During the Instagram Q&A portion on his Story, one person asked, “How many times did you stop and pee?” He proudly said “zero,” but he did provide a little “Bachelorette”-related trivia in a text box at the bottom of the screen. He wrote, “Fun fact: I peed 4 or 5 times on the bachelor mansion driveway when I was waiting in a limo before the proposal.”
He proposed to Kaitlyn Bristowe on Season 11 of “The Bachelorette.” They stayed together for three years before announcing their breakup on November 2, 2018.
Shawn has shared many a photo of himself training for the marathon —the biggest in the world with more than 50,000 runners. He’s posted some of his workouts, one of which included “pushing a dead van down the road immediately after a 12 mile run.”

While Shawn rested in his hotel room for much of the day after the race, Andi celebrated and partied with close friends. She posted photos and videos on social media of her friends coming out in full force with posters and dancing the night away with her. Tyler also partied it up on Sunday evening.
Huge congratulations are in order for Shawn, Andi, Tyler and everyone else who ran the marathon!
