All About Lauren Bushnell & Chris Lane's Romantic, Garden-Inspired Wedding
Autumn is in full swing, and nothing says “romantic wedding” quite like cooler weather and colorful foliage. Lauren Bushnell and Chris Lane seized the season and used it as inspiration for their wedding in Nashville, Tennessee.
The happy couple tied the knot October 25 in front of 160 people. People magazine reports that many of Lauren’s friends from Ben Higgins’ season of “The Bachelor” attended the big event, including twins Haley and Emily Ferguson, Jen Saviano and Amanda Stanton. Emily even caught the bouquet! Is there going to be another Bachelor Nation wedding in our future? We’ll let the bouquet do the talking…
Lauren and Chris brought the outdoors inside for their ceremony and reception. That worked out well because it rained that day, but neither bride nor groom seemed to mind. Lauren told People, “It actually made for a very emotional, beautiful day. And I’m from Oregon, so it made me feel right at home with the rain.” Chris also reportedly favored a fall wedding.
According to People, they opted for a “secret garden” ambiance because Lauren wanted to pay homage to her home state. The décor featured wood tables, trees as centerpieces, and “a lot of green.” She said, “Nashville is really green, and then I’m from Oregon, so that’s kind of how I wanted it to feel. I wanted it to have a secret garden kind of feel — really romantic.”
Their menu selections centered on seasonal produce. People reports that the meal included roast chicken, Parmesan risotto, asparagus, beef filet, and strawberry shortcake. Their three-tiered wedding cake was a classic white confection with salted caramel frosting.
Lauren and the “Take Back Home Girl” singer have had a whirlwind few months. Chris asked Lauren to marry him on Father’s Day while they were at her parents’ home in Oregon. He proposed while singing “Big, Big Plans,” a song he wrote specifically for her. Lauren called it “the happiest moment of my life.”

Lauren and Ben Higgins got engaged on Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” but they broke up in May 2017. Ben offered his well wishes to Lauren and Chris when he heard the news. He told Us Weekly, “I don’t know if my place is to congratulate my ex-fiancée on her new marriage, but from a distance I definitely did. I’m ecstatic that both of us have been able to move on in such a way that is making us both better people.”
Ben shared, “I wish them nothing but the best.” He told the site he hasn’t reached out to her personally because “that might be a little weird.”
Chris made his own mark on Bachelor Nation, too. In 2017, he performed his song “For Her” on Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor.”
Congratulations, Lauren and Chris!
