The Romantic Way Arie & Lauren Luyendyk Celebrated Her Birthday in Paris
Lauren Burnham Luyendyk is ringing in her 28th birthday in one of the most magical cities in the world: Paris.
Lauren, her husband Arie Luyendyk Jr. and their daughter Alessi flew to the City of Lights over the weekend, and their vacation coincides with Lauren’s big day. The family’s daily excursions have featured many of Paris’ must-see spots, including the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and the Louvre.
On November 20, Arie composed a tribute to his wife and used Paris as a frame for his message. He posted a picture of Lauren in front of the Louvre, looking as chic as a Parisian.
The former race car driver began, “If Paris is the city of love then I’m at home because you’re here with me :) Happy birthday to my wife, my love and the most important person in my life. You inspire me everyday (no really you do), I feel like with you we can do anything because together anything is possible.”

The city feels extra romantic and “so special” to the couple for a reason because “this where it all started!” He wrote, “Paris will always have a place in my heart because this is where my heart grew on my first date with you. It’s hard to believe it was two years ago but when you have a thing going like we do the years fly by.”
Arie concluded, “I just want to say I love you so much and you truly are the best wife, momma and best friend I could ever wish for. Je t'aime ma belle femme.”
In a birthday post of her own, Lauren shared a picture of herself holding Alessi as they take in a view of Paris. She wrote, “Looking back at my 27th year with a grateful heart, because it was the year I became both a wife and a mom to the two most important people in my world. Bring it on 28.”

As Arie mentioned in his caption, he and Lauren shared their first one-on-one date in the City of Love. At the beginning of this vacation, they stumbled upon the restaurant where they had their first date, Le Grand Véfour. Arie treated her to a birthday lunch there, and then they went up to the Eiffel Tower at sunset.
The Luyendyk family has had quite the momentous year. Arie and Lauren got married on January 12 in a romantic ceremony in Maui officiated by Chris Harrison. Four months later, on May 29, they welcomed their daughter Alessi.
In September, Arie and Lauren tied the knot again, this time n Las Vegas — Elvis Presley impersonator included. Lauren captioned a photo of them from the ceremony, “[Arie]’s so nice I married him twice! We always joked about ditching our plans for the first wedding and eloping in Vegas so we thought, what the heck, why not have both? Best decision we ever made as this day will be a hilarious memory we will cherish forever.”
