Peter Weber’s 'All-Time Favorite Food' Is His Cuban Mom’s Specialty
It may be that the way to Peter Weber’s heart is through his stomach — but only if it involves Cuban food.
The Season 24 Bachelor spoke with “Entertainment Tonight” at the 2020 Television Critics Association panel about his favorite cuisine and the person who cooks it particularly well. He told the site, “Rice and black beans — that’s my all-time favorite food. And plantanos.”
He added, “I love Cuban food.”
Peter’s mom Barbara is Cuban, and she cooked Peter’s favorite meal in December when Chris Harrison joined them at home for dinner one night. Peter posted a photo of himself and the show’s host sitting on the floor, captioning it, “Just chillin at my Mom’s house.”
He uploaded an Instagram Story that night of Barbara standing and singing over the stove as she prepared the feast. In another clip, Peter showed his brother Jack smiling over a heaping plate of black beans, rice, and plantains.
Peter also discussed the aspects of Cuban culture he loves the most, namely “the closeness and the family.”

The pilot has repeatedly spoken about how much his tight-knit family means to him, and he’s hoping to find someone who feels the same way. He repeated that sentiment while talking with Hannah Ann during the season premiere, who told him, “My parents have been married for over 26 years, and they’ve always instilled in me that one of the greatest gifts you can give your children is to show them what a healthy marriage is.”
He told “Entertainment Tonight” in another interview that his parents have been “the most amazing inspiration for me.”
On January 9, “The Bachelor” shared a deleted scene of Peter giving his parents a tour of Bachelor Mansion, which Barbara thoroughly enjoyed.

Peter lives at home with them but explained to “Entertainment Tonight” that he doesn’t mind them as roommates at all. “I’m owning it,” he said, adding, “Cuban culture is a little bit different than American culture, and it’s not unusual for a family to live together for a long time.”
Peter’s season of “The Bachelor” continues Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC (you can watch what to expect on Week 2 here).
