Raven Gates Is 'Finally Feeling Back to Myself' After 'Rough Year'
The year is off to a great start for Raven Gates, who is “finally feeling back to myself.”
The “Bachelor in Paradise” alumna opened up on Instagram about a health misdiagnosis and how a recent surgery eliminated “3 years of pain.”
She began her caption, “IM BACK! And finally feeling back to myself!! Have you ever been so tired and so drained that it’s all you can do to keep from just falling apart? But the show must go on.”

Raven posted on her Instagram Story last week that she underwent surgery — she didn’t specify what kind— and “had been misdiagnosed with a chronic illness.” Now, she’s “feeling SO MUCH BETTER.” She can “now function throughout my day without any pain!”
The 28-year-old explained 2019 “was a rough year for me, emotionally and physically.” She added, “I kept a lot in, I rose above, and felt like I kept getting kicked while I was down.”
However, she’s looking at 2020 with a fresh outlook. Raven concluded, “But 2020, whew, I wasn’t expecting the goodness & the grace I’ve gotten even in this first month. So, with all that said- KEEP the HOPE things will get better."
Now, she can fully concentrate on wedding planning with her fiancé Adam Gottschalk.
Raven has not disclosed the details of her health issues. One person commented on her photo, “What were you misdiagnosed with and what was actually the problem? (asking because of my pain and chronic illness)”

She replied, “I don’t want to share just yet until I’m completely out of the clear but the misdiagnoses was just due to the symptoms being very similar.”
This promises to be a big year for Raven and Adam — the “Bachelorette” Season 13 cast member proposed to Raven on May 31 on a rooftop in Dallas, which means they have a wedding in their near future!
In December, the happy couple closed on a house in Dallas and are in the midst of renovating it.
