Colton Underwood Promises to 'Be Thankful' Every Day as He Turns 28
Colton Underwood rang in his 28th birthday with a public promise to himself.
The Season 23 Bachelor celebrated his big day at popular restaurant Katana in West Hollywood, California, Sunday evening, and wrote on Instagram, “Dear lord, thank you for 28. If we learned anything today it’s that life is so precious... this year I will be thankful everyday.”
In his caption, Colton seemingly alluded to the sudden and tragic death Kobe Bryant, who passed away along with eight others in a helicopter crash Sunday morning. The picture showed Colton smiling at a birthday dessert with a large sparkler in it.

Colton’s girlfriend Cassie Randolph posted a photo of him carrying her, writing, “There are no words for how lucky I feel to have you! Life is better with you. Happy birthday, best friend. I love you.”
Other than promising to be “thankful,” he announced on Twitter that he would match any donation made to his charity, the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation, which helps “support and provide resources for people living with cystic fibrosis.”
He said in a video, “Today is my birthday and I am so excited to be celebrating it in such a cool and fun way. I am raising money for the Legacy Foundation and the fight against cystic fibrosis. Today, any donation that comes in I will personally be matching.” Colton hoped to raise $10,000.

Colton and Cassie constantly jet off to far-flung destinations together. Days before his birthday, the couple traveled to Cancun, Mexico, where they lounged on the beach and splashed in the pool. In November, Colton planned a “surprise trip” to St. Lucia for their one-year anniversary.
