Experience Lake Tahoe Like Arie Luyendyk Jr. on 'The Bachelor'
Skiing in the fall and waterskiing in the summer — Lake Tahoe will do anything but bore you!
The picturesque lake situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains is a top destination for couples looking to add excitement to their world. Whether you live for the thrill racing down steep slopes on your skis or prefer biking up tree-covered hills, Tahoe will have an activity for you. The pine and fir trees create a perfect backdrop for your romantic vacation, so surround yourself with nature’s beauty and allow it to breathe more oxygen into your relationship.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. traveled here on Season 22 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can use his dates as inspiration for your own.
Arrival
When you get here, you’ll surely want a hotel that overlooks the scenic lake. With its prime location and amenities, you’ll want to give a standing ovation to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where Arie stayed.
Once you arrive and set your bags down, it’s time to head out for your dates to make your relationships feel solid as a rock!
One-on-one date: Take your relationship to new heights
When in Tahoe, you absolutely need to explore the lake one way or another. If you’re looking for an adventure, take your relationship to new heights and gear up for a parasailing date at Zephyr Cove Marina! Once you’re back on solid ground, zip over to Ski Beach for a romantic champagne-filled picnic. Cheers to conquering fears!
After your picnic, head back to the Hard Rock Hotel and get all dolled up for a romantic dinner at Park Prime. Arie and his date got serenaded by LANCO, so while you might not receive your own private concert, don’t be afraid to bring your own music and share a dance that ends with you handing your date a rose.
Group date: Love can survive it all
Does your love have what it takes to survive in the wilderness? It’s time to put it to the test at The Hideout. Arie went out of the box on his group date when he and the ladies learned survival tricks such as compass training, bear defense tactics, and what to do when there's no drinkable water around. How… romantic?
If you’re looking for a more relaxed way to enjoy the great outdoors, we suggest heading out to trek one of Tahoe’s many hiking and walking paths. Once you’ve made sure no bears are near, grab your date and snuggle up to take in the never-ending views. Top off the day with a celebratory toast and dip in the hot tub as a reward for surviving your thrill-filled day. It’s the perfect mix of nature and nurture.
One-on-one date: Just horsing around
If you’re tired from hiking, give your two legs a break and keep exploring on four legs instead. Take your love out for horseback riding through the mountains and peer out at the astonishing views. Stop for a snack break along the way and let the natural beauty be fodder for deep conversation.
Later in the evening, have dinner over candlelight at Valhalla Estates and toast to your relationship galloping to new levels.
There’s no horsing around when it comes to love!
