Experience Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Like 'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 5
Lather on that sunscreen and pack your bathing suit, because it’s time to head to Mexico!
“Bachelor in Paradise” calls Mexico home for the summer months because the drama is often as hot as the temperatures! However, if you plan a trip to the region, all that drama will melt away so you and your date can relax on a romantic beachside holiday together.
Season 5 of “Paradise” ventured into Puerto Vallarta for many of the one-on-one dates. Here’s how you can experience Mexico like your favorite couples.
Arrival
There are plenty of options to choose from when staying in Puerto Vallarta, but for the true “Bachelor in Paradise” experience, there’s Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. The beachgoers on the show looking for love stay in Sayulita, but Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta serves as a popular destination for their dates. The resort includes pools, spas, entertainment, and easy access to the beach.
Unpack and unwind, because it’s time to let your personal paradise vacation begin!
Dates that'll take you to paradise
Thanks to its world-class beaches and nature preserves, top-notch food, and picture-perfect views, Puerto Vallarta hosts millions of tourists every year seeking an escape from reality.
Sitting on the beach and soaking up the sun is a favorite pastime of visitors looking to connect and relax, but there are bountiful ways to see what else Puerto Vallarta offers if you want to add a little adventure to your fun.
Taco 'bout a good meal
If you’re staying at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and want a date-night meal, you can choose between all types of ambiances at the resort’s many restaurants. Wine and dine at Santuario and Del Lago, both of which feature exciting entertainment.
While you’ll have to make arrangements in advance if you want your own private folklórico dancers, don’t be afraid to get up and show off your moves with your date. There’s also Tres Agaves, where you might even get lucky enough to have a pianist serenade you while you dine. Boredom certainly doesn’t exist when you’re at Vidanta!
Old Hollywood romance
You’ll find a number of delicious and romantic alternatives when you venture outside the resort. Have a one-on-one date at Villa Leonarda, the oldest house in Puerto Vallarta, which once hosted Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It’s the perfect place to act out your own timeless love story!
The two of you can also make reservations River Café, where you’ll eat fresh food amid palm trees and nature’s wonders. If the craving for Italian food hits, try Trattoria Toscana. As satisfying as these meals will be, there’s nothing quite as sweet as good company.
Love is an adventure
Test your plus-one’s ability to keep up with you by venturing over to Canopy River for a day of driving off the beaten path in a Polaris RZR. Relationships sometimes get messy, and that’s exactly what will happen here. Accelerate through the jungle and across a bridge, and then end by a waterfall, where the two of you can catch up while catching your breath. Take that next leap of faith together by jumping into the water holding hands!
Sea-Doo for two
Now that you’ve tested your date’s wits up in the hills, take it down to the water for your next set of outings. Continue your vacation at Marina Vallarta by renting a boat — or yacht! — for the day. Get extra time in the ocean by riding around in a Sea-Doo, too. If that isn’t enough for you both, book some time on an appealing banana boat and ride around holding each other. There’s no slipping up here!
Don't fight the feeling
When you want to spend more time on solid land, go for a stroll, and don’t forget to stop for some authentic Mexican tacos when all that adventuring leaves you hungry. Keep that pace going and amuse yourselves by ending the evening at a Lucha wrestling show. It’s all drama in the ring, but not between you two.
Bring your love to life
If you long to connect with Puerto Vallarta’s ever present spirituality, we suggest a unique date at Playa de los Muertos. The location may translate to “beach of the dead,” but your love is sure to come alive here!
Arrange a bonding ceremony with a local shaman where you and your date will be cleansed over a bonfire and learn how to connect to the earth and each other. Take each other’s hands, breathe in the ocean air, and let your beloved know how special they are to you. The two of you will surely leave with a renewed energy in your journey to love!
When you visit Puerto Vallarta, you’ll fall in love with the world around you, but even more so with the one you’re with.
