This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici Get Engaged
One of Bachelor Nation's most beloved couples are looking back at a milestone moment in their relationship.
Seven years ago, on March 9, 2013, Sean Lowe got down on one knee and proposed to Catherine Giudici. The couple began falling in love the moment Catherine stepped out of the limo in her sequin dress on the first night of "The Bachelor" Season 17. Catherine told him after introducing herself, "I'm so glad it’s you. You’re such a hunk."
Their relationship continued to blossom and evolve over the course of the season, when they shared many laughs and even more kisses. Their similar senses of humor drew them to each other, which both Sean and Catherine noted several times throughout the show. "It's impossible not to have a fun time with Catherine," Sean said in a voice-over montage.
The former football player professed his love to Catherine during the final Rose Ceremony in Chiang Mai, Thailand, before asking her to marry him.
"This has been such a crazy journey," he said. "There have been so many unexpected, wonderful moments with you. I knew from the very beginning that you were someone I wanted to be around. I just had no idea that my feelings were going to turn into what they’ve turned into."
Sean's proposal speech continued, "You never cease to amaze me. You never do. I think the world of you, and I miss you every time we have to say goodbye... I don’t want to say goodbye anymore. Catherine, I want to spend the rest of my life telling you I love you and making you feel like the most special, beautiful woman in the world."

She immediately accepted and they’ve been together ever since. Both Sean and Catherine wittily reminisced about the big day on social media with photos from their engagement. Sean captioned his image, "Seven years ago, I made her the luckiest woman on the planet."
Catherine captioned her picture, "The Bachelor finale starts tonight so of course I’m reminiscing. This is the moment my life changed forever. Seven years and an unnecessary amount of dumb jokes later, I’m not sure it changed for the better."

Sean quipped in a comment to that post, "Joke’s on you- you married me."
The happy couple tied the knot January 26, 2014, at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore in Santa Barbara, California. They live in Texas and are the parents of Samuel, Isaiah, and Mia.
