Jillian Harris Said Yes to Her Wedding Dress(es)
Jillian Harris "said yes to the dress"! Actually, make that dresses.
The Season 5 Bachelorette announced on social media Saturday that she has found her wedding dress, and the search was filled with quality time with her family and friends. Jillian shared more information about the whole experience on her website and blog, calling shopping for dresses "the highlight of my year so far."
According to Jillian, "the whole experience was NOTHING like I imagined." She admitted she procrastinated because there "was something about the whole wedding planning that was holding me back. I couldn’t get my creative juices flowing." Once she tried on some dresses, her entire outlook changed.
Deciding on the dress, however, was a feat in and of itself. "Before I started looking for 'the dress' I couldn’t picture myself in your typical wedding dress. To be honest, I thought they ALL looked the same and I was worried I wouldn’t find anything original," she shared. "I truly felt that I would try a bunch on and then go with some hot pink or bright yellow gown. But the exact opposite happened. As soon as I slipped in and out of different dresses, I realized I was going to have a hard time picking just ONE."

So, instead of picking one, she ordered two! Jillian did not divulge any information about the gowns because she wants it to be a surprise for her guests and her fiancé, Justin Pasutto. She described, "BOTH dresses are NOT at all what I expected to get. They are both pretty unique (well I think so anyway) but also timeless, beautiful and FUN. VERY FUN … both dresses are very ME.:
The first time around, Jillian shopped in her home town of Kelowna, British Columbia, with her future mother-in-law, her three cousins, and her best friend, who was in town. Her mom then flew in from Arizona a few weeks later and the two browsed around Vancouver.
While in Vancouver, Jillian and her mom attended a menu tasting and Jillian bought her wedding bands.
Jillian described it all as "exactly what I needed."
She wrote, "I feel so lucky that I was able to try on dresses with all the ladies that I love most and it made me SO excited for our big day!"

Justin proposed to Jillian on December 25, 2016, fulfilling one of her life wishes. She wrote in her blog after the engagement, "I’ve seriously ALWAYS wanted to get engaged on Christmas morning and Justin always thought it was cheesy so the fact that he thought it was a silly idea I thought for SURE it wasn’t going to happen."
Jillian and Justin are the proud parents of Leo, 3, and Annie, 18 months. They have not yet announced a wedding date.
Congratulations, Jillian, on finding the dresses of your dreams!
