Desiree Hartsock Siegfried Gets Real About 'Juggling' Aspects of Motherhood
Desiree Hartsock Siegfried is keeping it real when it comes to "juggling" numerous aspects of parenting, including balancing her work and home life.
The Season 9 Bachelorette took to Instagram Thursday to discuss how she's feeling and was completely open about her ups and downs. She posted a photo of herself holding her 18-month-old son Zander Cruz Siegfried and they both have huge smiles on their faces.
Desiree began her caption, "Motherhood is... juggling a mental, physical and emotional roller coaster daily (also two strong willed boys). I’m not gonna lie - running a business, 3 different podcasts & caring for my family and boys is exhausting and hard to stay on top of."
She got candid by explaining she often feels as if she's "just trying to catch up or defeated all together." Desiree gleaned an important lesson from that, writing, "If there’s anything I’ve learned through this short season with my young boys is that where I CHOOSE to put my priority (& energy) each hour effects the productivity and growth in that certain area."

The bridal gown designer continued, "When I focus on work- I get it done & business grows. When I’m with my boys, their happiness is my focus, allowing us to grow together. Where we water, it will grow. I get it wrong many days and can get caught up working on my phone but reminding myself today to invest in these little lives that matter most and my relationship with Chris over the short lived victory of getting a to-do list done."
She then raised a proverbial glass to all her fellow moms out there, adding, "Mommas, you’re doing a GREAT job!!!"

This is hardly the first time Des has spoken about motherhood, parenting, and finding time for herself and her husband Chris Siegfried. She often shares how she and Chris prioritize date nights and other outings in order to take time to themselves.
In November, she spoke out about she and Chris "connect more." She wrote in an Instagram caption, "We don’t date or take time for just us as often as we probably should and as many of you parents know it can be challenging to carve out the time away from the kiddos or when you do have time you’re too tired. Lol. Am I right!?!"
She went on, "Needless to say since implementing a more weekly date night we’re able to connect more, talk about things other than how many poops the baby had in a day or who’s picking Asher up from school."
A few weeks before that, Desiree shared she felt like she was getting out of her "baby rut with Zander" and "working on focusing on myself a little more- inside and out!"
