Astrid Loch Shares Empowering Message About 'Self Love'
Astrid Loch got candid about body image and “self love” in a powerful message Sunday.
The former "Bachelor" cast member posted a photo of herself sitting on her balcony in a bathing suit and wrote about how she was feeling physically and mentally.
Astrid began, "Self love. It can’t be taught, which makes it all the more difficult to learn. We all struggle with self esteem and it’s often easier to notice the things we hate about ourselves instead of the things we love. My stomach could be flatter (but like the McFlurrys have been hitting the spot), my grey hairs are peaking through, and my side boob can’t be tamed."
She continued, "But today I’ll choose to focus on the things I love about myself instead."
The 30-year-old named a few of her favorite attributes, noting that her "skin is clearer than ever" and her "arms are strong which helps my yoga practice." Astrid also called out her "laugh lines," saying they're "deep showing the good life I’ve lived."

She concluded, "I challenge you to do the same today. What are three things you love about yourself?"
Astrid's empowering message follows in the footsteps of other Bachelorettes who have addressed similar topics. In May, Vanessa Grimaldi wrote on Instagram, "I’m here to tell you to go outside and soak in the sun & that cellulite is N-O-R-M-A-L."
She added, "I’m now 32 and embracing all these beautiful perfections we are told are imperfections. You are all perfect - don’t be 20 year old me and break your back trying to change."

Astrid’s Instagram post comes just days after she and her fiancé Kevin Wendt adopted a puppy named Ace. They introduced Ace to the social media world Friday, explaining that they rescued him from a kill shelter in South Korea through the organization Bunny’s Buddies. However, due to the coronavirus, it took three months for Ace to make it to Canada to be with his new mom and dad.
Astrid and Kevin are due to tie the knot in November, and in May, she provided some updates about their big day.
She shared in an Instagram Story, "As of now, we are continuing to plan the wedding as if it’s still happening in November. Our planner has been super amazing at keeping me on track and not stressing. The biggest issue right now is that if we wanted to move it, a lot of our deposits would be lost."
As for the ambiance, Astrid wants to keep it "classy, minimalistic, and timeless."
